Malta- Richard W. Graham, 62, passed away with his loving family by his side on November 8, 2018.

Born on March 3, 1956 in Oceanside, NY, Richard was the son of the late Walter and Ann (Westervelt) Graham. Richard graduated from Wantagh High School, studied at University of Oklahoma, studied Mechanical Engineering at UConn, Thames Valley State Tech and Old Dominion University. He proudly served his country in both the US Army, General Dispensary stationed in Hohenfels, Germany and the US Navy aboard the USS Comte de Grasse (DD974). Richard had recently retired from the United States Postal Service after over 30 years, where he was an Electronic Technician. He had previously worked as a Federal Police Patrolman for the Department of Defense and for Steel Trades at Electric Boat Division of Nuclear Submarines. Richard was a former Boy Scout Troop leader for Troop 639 in Watervliet and was a member of Old Liberty Baptist Church in Malta. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed communicating on his Ham Radio, music, playing his many guitars and was a passionate fan of the New York Jets and New York Mets.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother Robert F. Graham.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Debra A. (Catapano); his children, Richard M. Graham and Marie L. Graham; siblings, Daniel (Carol) Falcone, Charles W. Graham, Elizabeth M. (Bernard) Weis and Laura A. Malatesta. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, especially David and Christopher Malatesta.

Rick’s family wishes to thank his brother-in-law Bernie for all his help over the years and the nursing and support staff of 2 McAuley at St. Peter’s Hospital for their kindness and compassion and also Rick’s friends for all of their love and support.

Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, November 12 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, November 13 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Ln, Latham, NY 12110.
