Colonie - Thomas P. Beeler, 90, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018 in the arms of his wife, Linda C. Beeler. Raised in Watervliet, Tom was the son of the late Philip and Rose Beeler.

At the age of 16, Tom joined the United States Navy to serve in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Upon returning home, Tom completed high school; five years later he served in the Korean War. Tom worked for A&P Trucking until working for and retiring from the New York State Department of Transportation as an Equipment Specialist. Tom’s hobbies included his much-loved motorcycles, building projects, woodworking, and taking road trips.

In addition to his wife Linda, Tom is survived by his fun loving, bouncy dog Joe, and the tight-knit community on Crisafulli Drive where he had many “sons, daughters, and grandchildren.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the nonprofit HeartsHerd Animal Sanctuary, Ms. Tracy Muscatello, 2075 Buskirk-West Hoosick Road, Buskirk, NY 12028

Calling hours are Sunday, November 11th from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A Funeral Mass is on Monday, November 12th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, NY.

There will be an Open House Reception from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to share Tom’s favorite foods, in the Beeler home.
