Rose M. Quimby
1932 - 2018

Albany -

It is with great sadness that the children of Rose Marie Quimby announce her peaceful passing on September 15, 2018 at the age of 86 years. For 65 years, Rose was the loving wife of Bernard Quimby, who predeceased her in May 2018. She was the daughter of the late John and Philomena Matero.

Rosie will be lovingly remembered by her children Richard V. Quimby (Catherine Trott) of Pittsboro, NC, Phyllis Quimby-Hesler (Jeffrey) and Vernard “Jay” F. (Fiancée Laura Spaulding). Rose will also be fondly remembered by her granddaughters, Samantha J. Hesler and Rachel L. Quimby, and by her siblings Frank and Mark (Cindy) Matero and Margaret Ann Matero O’Connor as well as many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Yonkers, New York and attended the High School of Commerce, she began her working career in Yonkers and later worked with the State of New York Education Department for over twenty five years. She enjoyed traveling, especially on road trips to the ocean.

The family home was the center of many joyful gatherings and her capacity to celebrate and support others through her generosity was a constant in her life.
