Rotterdam- Gregg P. Hamilton, 58, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 peacefully with his family at his side.
The son of Richard and Catherine “Kay” Hamilton. Gregg was born September 19, 1959 and raised in Rotterdam. A graduate of Draper High School.

He was employed by the NYS Thruway Authority for 36 years a Heavy Equipment Mechanic before he retired in 2014. He was a member of the Sons of the Broadalbin American Legion Post. Gregg loved his summers at camp at The Great Sacandaga Lake, Dun Loggin with amazing friends and family.

Gregg leaves behind his wife of 36/29 years, Cindy (Borden) Hamilton; his cherished son, Garrett R. Hamilton; his mother Catherine “Kay” Hamilton; siblings, Keith (Patty) Hamilton. Cathy (David) Lee, Brian Hamilton, Scott (Peg) Hamilton and Valerie (Jeff) Robinson; his in-laws, Marilyn Borden, Robert (Monica) Borden and Wendy (Bill) Thorpe. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.

Gregg is predeceased by his father, Richard; his brother, Bruce, father-in-law, Robert and brother-in-law, Michael.

Know by many nicknames, the one he most cherished was the “The Gergs”, given to him years ago by Garrett and friends. He will be dearly missed.

A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 10am at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, 3040 Hamburg Street, Rotterdam. There will be a calling hour before the service starting at 9am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gregg’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
