Colonie- Joan G. (Gall) Pippert, 86, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on August 4, 2018. The daughter of the late Julius and Pearl (Smith) Gall, Joan was born on November 18, 1931 in Albany, NY. Joan’s family was the center of her life, she loved being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 31 years, George H. Pippert; her siblings: Ruth Benson, Julius Gall, Carol Dobski, Meta Ruddy. Joan is survived by her children, Sandra (Donald) Thayer and George K. (Laureen Messineo) Pippert; her grandchildren, April (Anthony) Crisafulli, Kristin (Michael Barton) Santoli, Erika (Jonathan) George, Brendan (Kathleen) Pippert; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joan’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of The Eddy Pace Program and her granddaughter April for their loving and compassionate care.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, August 8 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, August 9 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
