EAST GREENBUSH- Janice Bibb-Jones, 69, daughter of the late Jimmie Daniels Sr. and Nancy Kate (Dodson) Daniels, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2018.

A native of Buffalo, NY, she graduated from East High School, the University of Buffalo, and attained her Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry.

Janice spent most of her professional life advocating for the children and families of New York State within the Department of Social Services and the NYS Office of Children and Families (OCFS). As a Bureau Director, she oversaw several programs, including Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Adoption Services. Prior to her retirement in 2010, she served as the Faith Based Coordinator for the NYS OCFS.

She is survived by her loving son, Scott Bibb, daughter - in-law Simren Kaur, granddaughter Sharon, and a host of nieces, nephews , extended family, and friends.

Janice loved to devote her time and energy to her church, St. Joan of Arc/Black Catholic Apostolic and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday July 10, at 9 a.m. at St Joan of Arc/Black Catholic Apostolate, 76 Menand Rd. Menands, NY. A calling hour will precede the mass from 8 to 9 a.m. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery at 48 Cemetery Ave. Menands, NY.
