Altamont- Victor H. Lown, 86, passed away on June 6, 2018. Born on June 15, 1931 in Romeo, Michigan he was the son of the late Harold and Ida (Decker) Lown.

Vic served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Navy. He married Nancy J. McCann in 1954. Together, they were area residents, raising their family in Altamont.

Vic was an electrician for the Elevator Constructors Local 35 for many years until his retirement in the late 1980s. Vic loved the outdoors and spending time with his family on their boat. He enjoyed fishing and watching Nascar. Vic was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Nancy; his children: Michael Lown, Timothy (Pamela) Lown, Nancy (Richard) Herrmann and Linda Lown; his sister, Barbara Gardella; his grandchildren: Jessica, Christopher, Josh (Stephanie), Brittany (Matthew), Austin, Connor and Brent: his great-grandchildren: Forrest and Chad; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will also be missed by his black lab, Bear and his beagle, Lady.
In addition to his parents, Vic was predeceased by his brother, Roger and his son Michael’s life partner Vicky.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Victor and Nan's calling hours on Sunday October 20, 2019 from 11 to 1p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York 12205. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
