John K. Hoffmeister, 90, formerly of Albany passed away Tuesday, April 9th, 2018. He was born on September 10, 1927. Son of the late Frederick J. and Sarah M. (Barton) Hofmeister. He was predeceased by his brother, Fredrick Hofmeister, and his devoted sister Mary E. Hofmeister.
John left school and enlisted in the U.S. Army, during World War II. After returning home, he became a member of the Laborers Local Union #190. He was a hard worker and worked for many years for both Thompson Construction and Hudson River Construction, retiring in 1991.
Survivors include his niece Cheryl (Peter) Collisson and two grand nephews Nicholas and Zachary.
Memorial contributions, in John's name, may be made to the ASPCA, P.O. 96929, Washington DC 20090-6929.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
