Schenectady- Sandra L. Halpin-Hill, 60, passed away after a long illness on February 7, 2018 at Ellis Hospital. Born on August 24, 1957 in Albany, NY, Sandra was the daughter of the late Barbara (Huba) Halpin and Robert F. Halpin and his wife Ann Halpin. She graduated from Cardinal McCloskey High School in 1975. She worked for many years as a home health aide for US Homecare and later on as a sales associate for the Salvation Army in Colonie. Sandra enjoyed doing a variety of puzzles, with crossword puzzles being her favorite. She was an avid reader and watcher of horror movies, which was always a challenge to find someone to watch with her. Sandra was a spiritual person and was true to her beliefs and her faith. She loved her family with all of her heart and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and cousin. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Alfonso, lovingly known as “Shy”; her children: Justin Halpin and Macilla Halpin; her beloved grandson, Ja’Zarien Halpin; her siblings: Brenda Halpin, Janice Halpin, Tina Fellehner, Steve LaFleur, Denise Smalls, Anita (Michael) Williams and Annie Wannamaker; her beloved Aunt Elsie Gillanher; beloved nieces Jennifer Halpin and Amesha Smith, and nephew Stephen Rudinski. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her loving feline companion, Kitty.
Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm on Thursday, February 15 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 12 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
