Robert was born in Troy, the son of the late Leo and Vivian Vogel. He had resided in North Colonie since 1960, most recently he was at the Albany County Nursing Home. He was a former communicant of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Latham. He retired from C.W. Storage in 1996, with 28 years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 294 for over 40 years.
He enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes and traveling with his wife Shirley to Las Vegas and various cruise destinations.
Robert was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Purcell Vogel in 2011 and a brother, Bernard F. Vogel.
He is survived by his four daughters: Debra Miller, Patricia (Robert) Adams, Carol Kotronis and Pauline Liburdi; a sister, Beverly Herman; six grandchildren: Russell, Dorene, Heather, Michelle, Jason and Casey and one great grandchild, Ryan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
