Guilderland- Frances Morrissey passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 after a long term illness. Frances was the daughter of the late William and Yolanda Brannigan.

Frances is survived by her two children; Christine Sawyer and Daniel Morrissey. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Amanda , Adrianna, Aidan and Tyler and two great grandsons; Michael and Giovianni. Frances also leaves behind her brother; William Brannigan.

She is predeceased by her daughter Jaclyn and her brother Thomas. Frances is also reunited in heaven with her daughter in law Tricia Morrissey.

Frances loved playing bingo and being involved with her family. She was a hard worker all of her life and never took time for herself. She cared for others and always took in everyone as her own. She will be dearly missed by her friends Christina DellaCioppa who was her bingo partner and longtime caretaker and best friend. Although she was divorced from Daniel Morrissey he gave her two beautiful children who she doted on very much.

Frances attended Cardinal McCloskey for which she quit school to help her family. Her mother’s family immigrated here from Italy and her father’s family from Ireland. She gave all of her money to her family so that they needed nothing and always made sure her children had the best of everything. Towards the end of her life she worked for Guilderland High School for 17 years and loved working with the kids. They missed her when she left. She was known as the “Great Whistle Blower” but allowed them to get away with everything. After she retired her health started to deteriorate and Jackie moved in to take care of her and did everything for her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 on Sunday, February 1,2015 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. A memorial service will follow the calling hours starting at 2:00pm. Inurnment will be held in the spring and will be at the convenience of the family.
