ROTTERDAM-Marian F. Goard, 82, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Rochester, NY the daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy (Giddings) Verstreet. Marian was a graduate of North Syracuse High School and resided in Rotterdam, NY for most of her life. Marian retired in 1994 from Golub Corporation, having been Neil Golub’s secretary for almost 20 years. Following retirement she worked part time at St. Clare’s hospital as a secretary to the Department of Volunteer Services. Marian was a member of Toast Masters for 14 years and very involved with her quilting groups.
Marian is survived by her children Patricia (Peter) Severino, Mark (Valerie) O’Brien and Lynn O’Brien; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff for their care and compassion during Marian’s time there.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A memorial service will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Light House Evangelical Church, 1234 Main St. Rotterdam Junction, NY 12150.
Inurnment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
Contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Evangelical Church, 1234 Main St. Rotterdam Junction, NY 12150 in memory of Marian.
