Nelson O. Williams, Sr. 83, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2013 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters, following a long illness and lengthy residency at Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center. He was born on September 19, 1929 to the late Otis Nelson and Dorothy S. Williams.
Nelson proudly served with the United States Coast Guard aboard the icebreaker Eastwind. He was an avid amateur radio operator (WB2SBO) and a member of the Albany Amateur Radio Club. Nelson retired from Exxon in 1991 after thirty two years.
Surviving him with many dear memories are his devoted wife of over sixty years, Dorothy J. Williams, their children Laura Williams Fiato and Nelson O. Williams, Jr., granddaughters Amy, Kristin and Heather Fiato also, his brother David (Wilma) and their children.
A graveside service will be held on Monday August, 26, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar, NY.
