Sharon Slaughter, 62, during the early hours on Saturday, Jun 08, 2013 our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sharon Lee Slaughter was born on Aug 26, 1950 to the late Frances E. Slaughter and Arthur Brockington. Sharon was educated in the Albany Public School system. She was employed by the State of New York Department of Social Services until she retired from state services.

Sharon had a gentle spirit and a great love for her children, grandchildren, family, researching our family ancestors, people and gospel music but most of all she loved Jesus and the Word of God!

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her step father, William L. Slaughter, Sr., two sisters, Barbara Johnson and Gloria Brockington and brothers, Leslie Slaughter and David Brockington.

She will be sorely missed by her New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church Family, and a host of relatives and friends.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her three sons; Darryl, Markieve and Shawn Slaughter; her three grandchildren, Shawn, Savannah and Preston; her sisters, Veronica Mott, Denise Arrington, Dana (James) Kornegay and Michelle Starling; her brothers, William, Michael and Gregory Slaughter, Ernest and Calvin Brockington and her sister-in-law, Eartha Brockington.

Funeral service for Sharon will be Thursday, Jun 13, 2013 at 12:00 pm. at the New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church, 165 Clinton Ave., Albany. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 to 12 at the church. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery.
