ALBANY-Joseph J. Rafferty, 85, of Albany, NY passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Joseph was born in Albany, NY the son of the late Thomas E. and Mary A. Zinzow Rafferty. He has resided in Albany all of his life and retired from the Port of Albany. Joseph was a US Army veteran having served in WWII.
Joseph is survived by his daughter Anna Marie (Darryl) St. Pierre of Albany, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Charles F. (Joan) Rafferty of Albany and William Rafferty of Guilderland, by his sister Doris M. Valerio of Albany, several nieces and nephews and by his close friends Sue (Dennis) Langworthy and family of Albany.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his brothers Thomas F., Frances, Paul, Michael, and James Rafferty, by his sisters Mary Miller and Joan Valyer, by his sister in law Virginia Rafferty and by his brother in law Gennaro Valerio.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
Interment will be at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
