Lorinda K. Spraragen
1943 - 2017

Schenectady- Lorinda K. Spraragen, 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 after a long battle with ALS. Lorinda was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine Angers.

She was a graduate of Linton High School and earned a Bachelors degree from the University of Albany. She later returned back to school for Computer Programming.

The things that were most important to Lorinda were family, friends and music. Lorinda was a singer and song writer, and member of the Lorinda Kay and the Shoestring Band. She wrote unique and inspiring songs and performed for cafes and other live events. She was incredibly proud of her music and even when every physical ability imaginable was taken from her, she still persevered to have her music heard.

Lorinda is survived by her two children, Kendall T. Spraragen and Kelly S. Young (Andrew) of Chantilly, VA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Dalton, Brandon, Cameron and Lindsay Young as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by her sister Sandra Villanova and longtime boyfriend Tom Litts.

The family would like to thank the musician friends that filled the halls with music as Lorinda passed and Elaine and Mary Lou who were her angels on Earth.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 27 ,2017 from 10:30am-11:30am at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service will start at 11:30am. Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady.
