Putzi F. Jost, 80, (formerly of Jay, New York) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at St. Peter’s Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

Putzi was the daughter of the late Franz Schuster and Bertha Schuster of Union, New Jersey.

Growing up in Union, NJ, Putzi was a ballet dancer. After a car accident, she took up skiing on the urging of her father. The therapeutic activity turned into a career. Putzi excelled in skiing and in 1960 she won both the SI and CSI or Maple Leaf Certification with the Canadian Alliance. She also won her Eastern Certification the same year and at the time she was believed to be the only woman holding both Eastern and full Canadian certifications. Skiing brought Putzi and her family to Jay, NY. In 1967, Putzi became the Ski School Director at Paleface Mountain in Jay, NY

Putzi also worked as the Administrative Assistant and Operations Manager at Santa’s Workshop at North Pole, NY for 34 years before moving to the Capital District.

Putzi retired from the NYS Senate Personnel Office where she worked as an Administrative Assistant.

Some of Putzi’s other accomplishments include Secretary/Treasurer for the Adirondack Attractions Association; Vice President for the Lake Champlain Attractions Association; and Director-at-Large for the NYS Travel & Vacation Association.

Putzi was a member of the Glenville Senior Center and also served as membership chair.

Putzi enjoyed spending her free time playing golf with her friends, traveling, especially to Ogunquit, Maine and enjoying her retirement.

Putzi is survived by her Daughter, Heidi Dillenbeck of Delanson and her two grandsons, Matthew (South Portland, ME) and Peter (Scotia, NY).

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, New York on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The memorial service will follow from 1;00-1;30 pm at New Comer Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
