COLONIE- Joseph F. Quickenton Sr., 77, passed away October 6, 2015. Joseph was born in Albany, New York on June 11, 1938 to the late George and Clara Quickenton.

Joseph graduated from Colonie Central High School. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and then continued on to the United States Airforce. He retired from NYS Department of Transportation after 32 years of employment. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, going to the casinos, fishing, making beef jerky, and going camping.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his daughter Lou Ann Blatnick and his granddaughter, Carla Blatnick.

He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Julie, his daughter, Kathryn (David) Riha, his son, Joseph (Donna) Quickenton, his brother, George (Betty) Quickenton, along with his 8 beloved grandchildren, Julie (Ken) Manley, David Blatnick, Daniel (Kate) Quickenton, Brittney (Ken) Eisnor, Amanda Blatnick, Katie Riha, Benjamin Riha, and Shane Blatnick and his 3 great grandchildren, Kyla Manley, Jack Manley, and Chloe Quickenton.

In lieu of flowers the family would like you to consider donating to the American Cancer Foundation or the Church of St. Clare in honor of Joseph.

Family and friends may call on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A mass will be held at the Church of St. Clare on Tuesday, October 13th with an interment at Memory Gardens following.
