In Memory Of
Joan A. Clifford
1930 - 2015

Albany—Joan Ann Clifford, 85, passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn on Sunday, October 4, 2015.
Joan was born on July 24, 1930, the daughter of the late George and Ida Dyer. She married her beloved husband, the late Dr. Robert Clifford, on October 16, 1954.
Joan graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names and St. Rose College, both in Albany, NY.
After working at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Joan became what she was perfectly meant to be—a mother, later a grandmother, and recently a great grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brother the Reverend George Dyer, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joan is survived by her children-- Robert Clifford (Wendy), Anne Devlin (Matthew), Mary Petersen (Floyd Fischer), and Elaine Barone (William); her grandchildren—Jessica (William Haynes), Emily, Elaine, Elizabeth and George Petersen in Florida; Grace and Mollee Barone in Slingerlands; and Leah Clifford in Altamont; her great grandson Colton in Florida; her brother Robert Dyer, his wife Janet and sons David and Brian in Albany; and her dear friend Nicolena Barone.
In dedication to Joan’s deep devotion to her Catholic faith, please offer prayers and masses for her to rest in peace with God.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 7, 2015 at Christ the King Church in Albany, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to Western Turnpike Rescue Squad, 200 Centre Drive, Albany, NY, 12203.
