Marion W. Rutherford , 80, passed away peacefully July 31, 2015.
Marion was born July 17, 1935, in Schenectady to the late Florence and John Waterfield.

Marion attended Mount Pleasant High School with the class of 1951. After graduation she lived in Roanoke,VA as well as Hyde Park, NY. Subsequently, she relocated to Boca Raton, FL where she began her career as the Vice President of commercial loan operations for Bank of America. Upon retiring, she moved to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Brevard, NC. In 1995, she returned to Schenectady, NY, to be with her Mother and family.

Marion loved her Church, book club, volunteer work, and gardening. She was happiest being with her family, many friends, and helping others.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Carol Holmes, Barb Vilenti, Pat and Bob Rosland, as well as Heidi and Scott DeBlock for their many years of friendship, we consider you family.

She was predeceased by her late husband James A. Rutherford and her beloved sister-in-law Sueko Waterfield.
She will be forever missed by her daughters; Cheryl (Dale) Owens-Long, Mary (Don) Ramey, and son William (Sue) Owens. Her grand children; Corey, Connor, Kyle, Dustin, and Zane. Her great grand daughter, Norah Grace. Her brother, J. Richard Waterfield. Her nephews; Ed (Bob Dickson) Waterfield, Jimmy (Karen) Waterfield, Bob (Cheryl) Waterfield, Patricia Waterfield, along with many great nieces and nephews.

Any contributions in memory of Marion can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Society or the memorial fund of the Niskayuna Reformed Church.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 at the Niskayuna Reformed Church located at 3401 Troy-Schenectady Road, Niskayuna, NY 12309. Reception to follow.
