GUILDERLAND- Leola McKee Taylor passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2015. Leola was born in Early Branch, South Carolina on February 3, 1923 to the late Joseph and Sadie McKee. She was the eldest of two children born to this union.

Leola attended Kline High School in South Carolina. At age 18 she relocated to Detroit, Michigan to pursue greater opportunities. Shortly thereafter she moved to New York City where she met and married Rudolph Taylor, Sr. Together they raised 14 children.

Aside from being a loving wife and mother, Leola worked as a home health aide for over 30 years. She was politically active and community minded. Leola was a spiritual person and very dedicated to family. When she retired she moved to the Capital District to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Leola is survived by her sons Rudolph, Pierre, Joseph, Carmichael and Lanvin; daughters Brigitte (Roger) and Melissa (Brian); sister Ednari Bright, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leola is predeceased by her husband Rudolph, Sr.; sons Lamont, Andre, William and Anthony, and daughters Paulette, Carlotta and Bernadette (David).

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road. Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland.
