GUILDERLAND – Hugh M. (Homer) Jones Jr., 82, of Guilderland, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at his residence.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Hugh and Hazel Speidel Jones Sr. Homer served in the Pacific Theatre with the US Navy during WWII. He was a manager at Sid Harvey’s Wholesale Air Conditioning and Heating Company for over 40 years. He also worked as a vehicle courier with Enterprise car rental. Homer was a longtime member of the Guilderland Elks and Fuller Rd. Fire Dept.
He was predeceased in 2004 by his wife, Jean E. Jones. He is the father of Gary (Meg) Jones of Willow Grove, PA , Terry (Bruce) Castle of Hilton, NY, Debbie Jones of Hilton, NY and Jeff (Noreen) Jones of Guilderland. He is the brother of the late Raymond Jones. Hugh is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Interment will be private at Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fuller Rd. Fire Dept. 1342 Central Ave. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Hugh M. Jones.
