Norman William Henk, 93, was taken to his heavenly home on June 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Norm was the son of the late Theodore and Irene (Schroeder) Henk.

He graduated from Albany High School, continued his education at Siena College, and graduated with a degree in accounting from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in Boston. He proudly served for two years in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS John W. Weeks destroyer as a Radarman 1st class. He saw action in the South Pacific at Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Luzon and Tokyo.

He was employed by major companies in cost accounting. For the last 18 years of his career, he was self employed as a contractor for custom window treatments. He was an excellent craftsman, very innovative, and enjoyed serving his customers.

He was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Colonie for over 50 years. He served as treasurer, comptroller and in property maintenance.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Emily (Hahn), his loving and caring sons, Paul (Mary) and Steven (Dianne). He is the proud grandfather of Jonathan (Jenni), Melissa, and Christopher (Clara), and great-grandfather to Crue Ennett.

Calling hours will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 63 Mountain View Avenue, Colonie, NY on Monday June 18, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kingsway Community for their loving care given to Norm.
