Christian Howard Conover, “Papa Bear” 70, of Scotia, is at peace and passed away May 19, 2018, after years of valiantly coping with Huntington’s Disease. He was the loving husband and best friend to Rita for over 20 years.

Born December 7, 1947, he graduated Scotia High class of 1965. Christian graduated Siena College and served in the Army, achieving the rank of Major. Before retiring from KAPL, he attended the culinary program at SCCC. Chris enjoyed his family, friends, food and a good time. The Sunset Boys were his golf mates for more than 30 years and he was a Charter Member of the Scotia Glenville Elks Club for 29 years, and participated many times in the RAGBRAI a 500 mile bicycle trek across Iowa.

Father of Aaron (Diane) Conover, Jacqueline Grandy of CA and stepfather of Dawn (Michael) Guidone, Shane Pipek and Aimee Marone. Grandfather of Benjamin, Zoe, Annabelle, Elias, Colden, Cory, Margaret, Catherine and Navalya.

In lieu of flowers, donations to HDSA would be appreciated.

There will be a Military Service to honor Christian at Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 23rd.
The Family plans a Celebration of Life following.
