Albany-
Frank L. Dedrick, 82, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2018, following a brief illness. Born in Catskill, NY, he was the son of late John W. and Mary A. (Redden) Dedrick. At a young age, he moved to Albany with his family and graduated in 1953 from Albany High School. He honorably served in the National Guard, the U.S. Army, serving in Germany, and the U.S. Air Force. He was later employed by Firestone for several years.

Frank enjoy talking about his military days and his family heritage. He was a direct descendent of two Revolutionary War veterans and the original Dutch settlers of New York.

He was the last of seven children being predeceased by three sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Oxbrough, Mrs. Helen M. Valente and Mrs. Joyce M. McCoy; three brothers, John H. Dedrick, William J. Dedrick and Charles J. Dedrick.

He is survived by 17 nieces and nephews and many loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 9:00am at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Catskill, NY.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital for the care and consideration extended to Frank during his last days.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice Inn, St. Peter's Hospital, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
