ALBANY- Dante A. Calogero, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2018.

Dante was born in Albany, NY on August 8, 1925 to the late Michelangelo and Rosaria Calogero. Dante worked as a meat packer for Tobin Packing Company for over 40 years before his retirement from the Albany City School District. He enjoyed working in his tomato garden, watching the New York Yankees, doing word-search puzzles and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dante was married to his loving wife, Louise, for over 53 years. Together, they had four daughters: the late Josephine (Daniele) LoGiudice, Mary (William) Shell, Donna Calogero and Louise (Todd Dugan) Calogero. Dante's greatest pride was his grandchildren: Anthony, Donovan (Sarah), Alexandra (Christopher), Madeline, Nicole, Joshua, Daniel, Joseph, Jennifer and Nicholas.

Dante is survived by his brother, Americo Calogero and his brother-in-law, Carmine (Gina) Natale. He is predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Adriana Calogero; and sister-in-law, Emma Jane Calogero.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A prayer service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 8:15am at the funeral home with a mass of Christian burial following at 9:00am at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St, Albany, NY, 12203 (behind the CVS). Burial will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
