Guilderland- Alberta Jean Pahl, 84, passed away at her home on March 7, 2018. Born on August 8, 1933 in Schenectady, NY, she was daughter of the late Duncan and Alberta (DeBraccio) McNicol. She married the love of her life Roy Pahl, Sr. after he returned from World War II. Alberta was a woman of Faith, she was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher at Mont Pleasant Baptist in Schenectady. Together they raised their family in Guilderland. It was in the family home that Roy built where she had her ceramics and craft studio. For 30 years, Alberta made and taught ceramics, which was her passion. A true crafter, she was a talented painter and card maker as well. Roy predeceased her in 2008. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and aunt.

She is survived by her beloved children: Crystal Pahl, Roy Pahl, Jr., Daniel (Melody) Pahl and Suzane (David) Shireman; her sisters: June Salsburg and Nancy Hopper; her 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband of 57 years, she was predeceased by her siblings: Frances Miller, Edith Kilmer, Donald McNicol and Duncan McNicol.

Visitation will be held from 9 am to 11 am on Thursday, March 15 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2919 West Lydius Street, Schenectady, NY 12303. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alberta’s name to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2919 West Lydius Street, Schenectady, NY 12303.
