1930 - 2018

Albany- Elizabeth “Betty” McAuley Brizzell ,87,passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 6, 2018. She was born in Albany where she lived her entire life.

Betty graduated from Cathedral Academy and worked for the Department of Criminal Justice Services until her retirement. Betty loved to visit the casinos, play bingo, cards, and spend her time with friends, family, and her dog, Daisy.

She is the daughter of the late Arthur D. McAuley and Marie Weinlein-McAuley. Betty is the Mother of the late Marie Davies; and the sister of the late Arthur J. McAuley (Eileen), and Joyce (Joseph) Conroy.

She is survived by her children, Katherine Brizzell, and Barbara (Scott) O’Neil, grandchildren, Jennifer Davies, Jessica (Richard) Hubicki, John Paul (Jessica) Hulslander, and Dennis (Ariel) O’Neil, great grandchildren, Karena, and Justin Hubicki, and the future Baby Hulsander, due August 2018, niece, Marcia McAuley-Poole, Paul Hulslander (Father to John Paul), dear friend, Pauline Davies, and Peggy Jewett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, on Thursday, January 11, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany at 9:00 am on Friday, January 12, 2017. Inurnment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice at St. Peters, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
