ALBANY-Roberto L. Colon passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017.

Roberto was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, son and friend. Everyone who knew him loved him. He will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege to know and love him.

He was the biggest Batman fan and he will be remembered as Batman himself. He had a passion for old cars, motorcycles and of course, his Batman collection. Roberto loved listening to Elvis, Rod Stewart, Queen Latifa, Marc Antony and country music. He enjoyed watching old Western movies. Roberto was proud of his Puerto Rican heritage and always looked forward to Puerto Rican day parade at Washington Park.

Roberto is survived by his son, Ulyssess Colon; siblings, Benjamin Mercado, David Cotto, Flor Cotto, Fernando and Wanda Cotto; wife, Valena Shepherd and her family and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, Olga Lopez; uncle, Jose Rivera and close friend Edwin Mercado.

At Roberto's request, no public services will be held. Those wishing to honor his memory may contribute to a cause supporting diabetes awareness and research.
