He was born in Albany, the son of the late Giuseppe and Guiseppina Mirabile. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Charlie and Santo Mirabile.
Tony served in the U.S. Navy during WW II on the USS Intrepid and the USS Card.
He was a Carpenter for Local Union 370, retiring in 1988. Subsequent to his retirement, he worked for the City of Albany Parks & Recreation, retiring at the age of 87. He was an avid sports fan and was known for his vast knowledge of racehorses and enjoyed betting the horses.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Joan; his two daughters: Judy Jacobson and Tina (Dave) Barbier; two grandchildren: Samantha and Adam Jacobson and one great grandchild, Greyson Bailey; and brother, Joseph (Joan) Mirabile. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Roberta Miller, Dr. Abul Azad, Dr. Michael Bernstein and the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for their care given to Tony in his time of need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Avenue, Albany on Monday December 18 at 10:30 a.m. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
