BALLSTON LAKE- A service will be held for June M. Atashian, of Ballston Lake, who passed away peacefully on December 12, 2017 at the age of 94 after a short illness.

June Atashian (Atamian) was born in Hartford, CT. and was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Hartford, CT. She is the widow of the late Aram A. Atashian Sr. who was the Founder and Director of the Laboratory at Bellevue Maternity Hospital. June had been a resident of Niskayuna since 1953, later residing with her daughter and family in Ballston Lake.

June was a parishioner of St. Peter Armenian Church in Watervliet, and a long-standing member of St. Stephen’s Armenian Church in New Britain, CT. She dedicated her life to being a Homemaker, a loving mother, and a devoted and supportive grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, the Saratoga Racetrack and going to the Casino where she always seemed to be a winner. June will be remembered for her sense of style, sophistication, grace and patience. She was a kind-hearted soul who will be missed by all she touched.

Survivors include two sons, Aram Atashian Jr. (Judy), Gregory Atashian (Deborah), daughter Tamara DeSanctis (Mark); Grandchildren Tracy, Lorri, Melissa, Erin, Andrew, Olivia, Joseph and many Great-Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving granddaughter Tara Atashian.

Public viewing will be from 9:30-11:30, followed by an 11:30 Funeral Service at St. Peter Armenian Church in 100 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet on Friday, December 15, 2017. Immediately following services, the burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Garden of Resurrection, 983 Watervliet Shaker Road, Albany.
