Mary G. Rucinski of Latham, passed away peacefully at age 87, on October 19, 2017, at the Albany County Nursing Home. Born on December 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Helen S. Guildea.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Theodore J. Rucinski, Jr.

Mary is survived by her son, Gregory (Sue); her sister, Jean Rucinski (Robert), and several nieces and nephews.

She was graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany. Mary worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield, as secretary at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham, and retired following many years as the secretary at Saint Gregory's School for Boys. In retirement, she enjoyed her hobbies of gardening, needlework, cooking and swimming (she will be fondly remembered for her many hours of floating on the ocean waves). She also volunteered at Father Peyton's Family Rosary and St. Joseph's Provincial House in her retirement.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 24, from 5-7 pm, at NewComer Funeral Home, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 25, at 10:00 am, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Northeastern New York Chapter, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, New York 12205.
