Albert F. Plass, 61, of Glenmont, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, September 21, 2017.

Born in Albany to the late Winifred and George Plass. Albert was the devoted husband to Marta J. (Goldberg) Plass. They were married 35 years. Loving father of Julia Baskerville of Albany, Daphne Plass Jenkins (Kat Jenkins) of Lansingburgh and the late Adam Plass. Cherished grandfather of; Corey Chiaro, Allie Baskerville, Kenyon Baskerville and Harrison Adam Jenkins. Dearest brother of George, Herbert, Theodore, Sally, Jeanette and the late Marjorie, William, David and Daniel. Cherished son-in-law to the late Lois and Harry Goldberg, whom Albert had a special bond with.

Albert found peace when gardening, but most of all enjoyed the time he spent with his family, the center of his life and focus.

Albert was an Albany High School graduate. Albert was proud to serve his country in the Marine Corps. from 1977 to 1980 and received an honorable discharge.

On August 21, 1982 he married the love of his life, Marta. He worked in food service at many Capital Region restaurants and most recently at the V.A. Hospital in food and nutrition. Albert's family was his life and he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and Pop Pop.

The funeral service will commence at 12 noon on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens in Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home.

Contributions to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) to help fund Melanoma research would be appreciated.
