Pasquini, Vera A.

Knox – Vera A. Pasquini (Wall), 94, of the Town of Knox passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at home.

Vera was born August 24, 1923. She married William “Bill” Pasquini in Albany on Sunday, February 6, 1942 the day before he entered the Army to serve in World War II. Vera loved to tell anyone who would listen, how she met Bill when he asked her one day if he could walk her home in downtown Albany. She would say with a smile on her face, “he took my hand that day and didn’t let go for 65 years”. Bill predeceased her in 2007. Vera was known for her ability to paint pictures with amazing detail up until the last year. When asked a few years ago, during an emergency room visit if she wanted to sign an order to not resuscitate, she responded, “I asked the good Lord in the ambulance if it was my time and he said ‘no, you have more painting to do’, so no thank you.” She was a long time communicant of Mater Christi Parish.

In addition to her husband, Vera was predeceased by her daughter Kathy Pasquini Malave in 2004 and her son John as an infant. She is survived by her three sons William (Laura Hill) Pasquini, Jr. of Berne, Richard Pasquini and Michael (Julie) Pasquini both of Albany; her grandchildren William Pasquini of Berne, Sonya Pasquini of Delmar, Tommy Malave of Guilderland, Daniela (Damian) Malave D’Arpino of Rotterdam, Nicholas Pasquini of Albany, her sister Doris Riley of Old Saybrook CT, her sister-in-law Janice Wall of Colonie, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Contributions in Vera’s memory may be made to Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany NY 12208.
