James was born on July 22, 1929 son of the late James V. Clark, Sr. and Anna (McNamara) Clark in Hartford, CT.
James was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for over 40 years at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company first in Hartford, CT and later in Schenectady and Albany where he relocated with his family.
James is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Helen; his children, Mary Ellen Gay, James V. Clark III, Patricia M. Johnston (Garth), Sheila M. Fitzgerald (John); grandchildren, C. Zeb Johnston, John Fitzgerald Jr., Patrick Fitzgerald, Meghan Fitzgerald, Michael Fitzgerald, Brendan Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, J. Dalton Johnston, C. Russell Johnston; brother, Thomas Clark (Phyllis) and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
James was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ann Dauphinais.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday September 20, 2017 at 11:30am at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, 180 Washington Ave Ext., Albany, NY 12203. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 19, 2017 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Interment will follow Mass at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
