1950 - 2017

STEPHEN J. KIRTLEY- 66, passed away on September 7, 2017 at the Stratton VA Hospital.

He is the son of Donald Kirtley and Alice Kirtley.

Stephen proudly served his country in the US Army and was honorably discharged in Oct of 1970. In 1972 Steve became a painting and wall papering contractor until his retirement in 2012. While working during the day and going to school at night, Steve graduated from Albany Business College.

He loved golfing with his family and friends.

He especially loved doing charity work for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with his wife Linda by his side. Stephen was married to the most beautiful, loving and caring woman in the world, Linda, for 41 years until her passing on Sept. 17, 2015.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Alice; children, Stephen E. (Leslie) Kirtley and Christina L. Kirtley; his siblings, Donna (John) Marshall, Lisa (Tom) Hart, Cheryl (Mike) Popson, Shelly (Mark) Mance, David (Marchelle) Kirtley, Keith Kirtley, and Mike Kirtley (Tracy Knapp). Steve also leaves behind his 3 beautiful grandchildren, Tiana, Isaiah and Elijah along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald and 2 sisters, Susan and Cindy.

Upon Stephen's request, there will be no viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206 on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 1pm.
