ALBANY-Monica C. Howlan, 80, passed away peacefully with her caregiver by her side.

She was born on May 15, 1937 daughter of the late Charles and Marian Clother.

Monica was a lifelong resident of the Capital District and was employed for over 35 years with the State of New York, most recently with the Dept. of Health.

Monica was an avid reader, loved gardening and was a lover of animals. She was kind hearted and will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know and love her.

She is survived by her sister, Jean Clother and many loving cousins and friends.

Monica's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caregiver, Grace Moran for her compassion, dedication and support they provided to both Monica and her family during her illness.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10AM at Our Lady of The Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110.
