Schenectady- James A.Stefanacci Sr., 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at his home.

Born on April 20, 1923 in Clifton, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Cataldo Stefanacci, Louise and step-father Emory Kovacs. Jim worked in the trucking industries for 65 years. He was a member, along with his wife, of the Crescent Boat Club in Rexford. He also loved to fish and hunt. Jim was a sports fanatic and played semi-pro football in Clifton, New Jersey.

Jim is predeceased by his beloved wife, Viola Stefanacci; it was a loving union of 61 years until her passing in 2014.

Survivors include his loving family, son, James Stefanacci, Jr; daughters, Joan Stefanacci and Jean Keenan (David); grandchildren, Samantha Nicole, Mia Louise and Lily Maria; great granddaughter, Evelyn McFly. Jim was predeceased by his brother, John.

A memorial service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 4pm at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held from 2pm until the time of the service at 4pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
