Berlin, CT- Ernest M. Marzec, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 13, 2017. He was the son of the late Michael and Anna Marzec. Ernest is survived by his wife, Victoria (Sisti) Marzec.

Ernest grew up in New Britain, CT before entering the Navy and then relocated to Buffalo, NY where he raised his family. Upon retirement, Ernest and Victoria returned back to East Berlin, CT. To be closer to family, Ernest and Victoria moved to Saratoga Springs, NY. He enjoyed building model boats and carpentry. Ernest was a gentle kind man whom everyone loved and gravitated toward.

In addition to his wife Ernest is survived by his children, Karen (John) Marzec- Sciolino and Michael (Katherine) Marzec. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Sciolino- Moore, Nicholas (Rachel) Sciolino and Andrew (Katrin) Marzec, and his great grandchildren, Scarlett Louise and Gemma Grace. Ernest also leaves behind his sister, Irene Marzec.
He is predeceased by his brother Alphonse Marzec.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the LaSalle School Needy Boys’ Fund, 391 Western Avenue, Albany, NY 12203 or the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:30am at St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Interment will follow Mass at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
