1948 - 2017

Vincent DePaul "Paul" Flanigan, 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was the son of the late Agnes Noonan and Thomas J. Flanigan.

He served his country proudly in Vietnam, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

His natural love of golf will be remembered by all. He was noted for his quiet, kind giving and his smiling gentle spirit. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Paul was a loyal communicant of St. James Church as well as a proud graduate of McCloskey High School in Albany, NY.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother-in-law; Ronald G. Loeber.

He is survived by his brother and sisters, Thomas E. Flanigan, Mary Ellen Loeber, Meg Flanigan and Cathy (Sam) Stapp. He is also survived by two nephews Michael and Gil Loeber.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. with a funeral service to follow at 6:30 pm. Interment will be on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society Memorial Processing Center 6725 Lyons St East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007 in Paul's memory.
