Mechanicville- John Spencer Allen, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 18, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Harold and Florence Allen. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sally Allen (Priddle).

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and loved reading, spending time at the ocean and was a big Yankee fan.
In addition to his wife John is survived by his brother, Peter O. Allen (Margaret) as well as his mother and father in law, Evelyn and George Priddle, brother in law, Larry R. Priddle and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Saratoga County Hospice (Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Boulevard, Rensselaer, NY, 12144) or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 (donate.cancer.org).

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on
Monday, June 26, 2017 at 1:00pm. Family and friends will be processing from New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189 at 12:00 up to the National Cemetery.
