Richard N. "Mickey" Dames, Sr.
1932 - 2017

Colonie - Richard N. Dames, 85, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Richard was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Dames. Richard was the devoted husband to Joan Ann Dames.

Mickey served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1950. He was a member of the Operating Engineers, IUOE Local 158 for over 60 years and in later years was employed for the Colonie School District. Mickey was an avid golfer and bowler.

Mickey and his deceased wife, Lucy Dames, were the parents of their children, Richard, Jr., and Mickey (Debbie) Dames. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his sister, Toni Maccagnano; his brothers, Ronald (Gerry) and Roger (Rosemary) Dames; and step-daughter, Nancy Prince.

Mickey was predeceased by his daughter, Elena Wintle; four brothers and four sisters, Albert, Charlotte, Virginia, June, Robert, Russell, Chickie, Reed.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 9:30 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 175 Williams Rd, Troy. Entombment will follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave, Albany.
