Phil was born on March 27, 1934 in Green Island and was the son of the late Philip L. and Anna Rita (Burke) Lemieur. He worked for many years at Williams Press as a foreman before the business closed. He then retired from the NYS Education Department after many years of service. He was a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an animal lover, especially his dogs. Phil was an avid member of prayer meetings held at St. Augustine's in Troy and was a communicant at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Brida L. (Grande) Lemieur; his loving children, Phyllis (Rob) Webster, Tom (Diane) Lemieur, Linda (Chris) Marson and John (Becky) Lemieur; his cherished grandchildren, Travis, Brendan, Elise, Forrest, James and Kaylie; his sister, Betty Lemieur and his sisters-in-law, Cathy Grande and Fran Lemieur. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Lemieur.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the 4th floor nursing staff of Albany Memorial Hospital and Dr. Matin. Special thanks to the team of nurses and especially Darcy DeLorenzo head nurse and hospice nurse Kate.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Latham. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
