Schenectady- David J. Zampella, Sr., 65, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017. He was born on September 17, 1951 to Elinor Zampella and the late Jacob Zampella.

David worked for Plug Power in Latham as a proud member of the mechanical engineering team for 18 years. He enjoyed bass fishing, music, and loved his family above all else.

He is survived by beloved wife of 50 years, Linda A. Zampella; his children, Christa (Stephen) Sautin, David Zampella, Jr., and Anthony Joseph (Rachael Pelletier) Zampella; grandchildren, Isabella, Sophia, Jacob, Stephen, and Lukas; sister, Maria; brothers, Jay, Mark, James, and Randy; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law; and many dear friends, too numerous to name.

David will be dearly missed by all those lucky enough to have known him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at St. Luke’s Church, 1241 State St, Schenectady, NY 12304.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David’s name would be appreciated to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005.
