Colonie- Alice Bauer, 77, entered into eternal peace on, Saturday, April 8, 2017 with family by her side. Born in Asheville, NC she was the daughter of the late Susie Jones. She is predeceased by multiple siblings. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles J. Bauer Jr.

Alice moved from Asheville, NC to Stamford, NY in her early teens where she attended and graduated high school. She then moved to Albany where she attended Austin Beauty School obtaining her Beautician license. Alice worked alongside her sister Grace in her beauty salon on Quail Street in Albany. She attended Pine Grove United Methodist Church.

Alice loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. Alice loved baking with her grandchildren and she was an avid reader.

In addition to her husband, Alice is survived by her three children, Lisa A. Tice (Michael), Charles Michael Bauer, Ellen Valentina (David “Davie”). David always had the ability to make Mom laugh. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zachary Charles-Michael Valentina “Zackie” & Alyssa Marie Valentina “Baby Girl.” Alice is also survived by her brother, Ernest F. Jones.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the staff on 5 Brady Farrell at St. Peter’s Hospital and the doctors and staff at Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates.

Alice struggled with COPD for many years and never gave up. She faithfully attended Pulmonary Rehab.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
